About this collection

This collection is part of the Pubelo City-County Library District's archive of Native American rock art images and related materials, donated by the Colorado Rock Art Association (CRAA).  The original slides, photo prints, notes, and manuscripts were created by Sally Cole, an archaeologist in Colorado.  Rock art depicitons include a variety of motifs, styles, and techniques created by Native Americans throughout Colorado and New Mexico.  Also included in this collection are Sally Cole's field notebook, created during her research in the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site, along with her previously unpublished final report on rock art in the PCMS.

Digitization and access to these images were supported in part by an award from the Colorado Historical Records Advisory Board, through funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), National Archives Records Administration, and the Colorado Rock Art Association.
