|During the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth centuries fraternal, sororal, cultural, economic, civic, social, and religious organizations grew in parallel to the developing cities. Groups organized around common interests which often fueled the political and social transformation of the United States. Pueblo, Colorado was home to many such organizations memorialized within the archival collections of the Pueblo City County Library District. Organizations created for the mutual benefit of the members, have had far reaching impact on the development of social mores, economic structures, and political habits. Pueblo's history is interwoven with the activities of clubs and volunteer organizations. This collection highlights the visual and written histories of these organizations.
